It all starts when you step into your college for the first time. As an excited fresher, most young people don’t leave any stone upturned to achieve their first day of college special. Although some go for the great outfit, others memorize the college booklet — cover to cover. And there are continuously a few others who come prepared to begin themselves in great style.

Come to think of it, the first day is always special. College life in India is one of the most important experiences that one goes through. In fact, it is the turning point in a person’s life. There is an mixture of opportunities that comes your way. A latest college student is anxious, curious and excited till he or she enters into this new earth. Ultimately, over time one starts enjoying it to the maximum.

While the first day in college is, with no doubt, the most eagerly anticipated, the rest of the days are equally enjoyable. Campus life is full of all sorts of activities. You will get an exposure to a number of fields such as drama, theater, music, choreography and photography. Watch out for the developing debating circuit. Indeed, college life is full of fun. Students are unanimous over the truth that in college you make friends for life. Memories that last a lifetime. Friends make every instant of college life worthwhile. Be it the chat sessions in the canteen, sharing dreams and despair or even attending classes, we are all in it together.

Also, you get to assemble students from crosswise the country. Students share a common platform and further exchange their opinions, behavior and culture. They are the reason why one feels truly enriched.

Nevertheless, as a fresher, you should be careful about a little things. Even though you are usually part of a group, you must maintain your uniqueness and never give in to peer stress. You should never be a room potato and shy away from seniors or treat college fests as free holidays or preparatory leave. Freshers should make it a point to network with people and participate in as several college and extra co-curricular activities as you can. Think of, college is the spot where you learn to juggle between the individual and the collective.

College is a microcosm of life itself. In college, you will meet lots of people. There will be clubs, teams, parties, volunteer activities, lectures, movies, concerts, etc. You will probably have more job than you have ever had, but you will also have free time. Also, college experience alters and redefines your perception of life. You lose your high school pretentiousness and realize that in the bigger picture, it doesn't subject if you wear branded clothes or sport the latest hairstyle.

College also helps you to shed inhibitions and attack conversations with random people on random topics; in short it enhances a student’s communication skills. When you enter college, it is quite normal to feel nervous, uncertain and lacks basic communication skills. But all that will change.

Apart from the fun, frolic and movement, college also provides an initial fillip that you need for a brilliant career. College life also exposes students to a range of career opportunities that lie ahead. It is in college that you jump gaining experience through various internships and jobs and gain valuable insight into the way the professional environment works. This also enables you to be a part of a broader network.

With such a goldmine of opportunities, college life can control you lost. The liberty from uniform can be enticing, but you should be careful.
